How to Help

You can help by donating, fund raising and praying:

Fund Raise

There are many ways that you can raise funds – and raise awareness about how your funds are helping young people in Lesotho. You could:

  • Ask your church to adopt the BET as one of their charities
  • Have a coffee morning with proceeds to BET
  • An auction of promises at school or church such as car washing, baby sitting, use of a holiday cottage, baking a cake
  • Take a collection for BET at the Carol Service
  • Sell some beautiful Lesotho crafts, supplied by BET
  • Agree a ‘no present’ rule with a friend and give a donation instead
  • Send Christmas e-mail cards to friends and family instead of card ones and donate the money saved
  • Hold a raffle with donated prizes
  • Have a church quiz evening with a fish and chip supper

Pray

Items for prayer

  • Wisdom for Trustees, both in UK and Lesotho
  • Sufficient funds to support existing and new students
  • Wisdom for colleges as they identify who needs scholarships
  • Perseverance and skill for the students as they continue their studies
  • Job opportunities for students who have graduated

Suggested Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I pray that you will bless the work of the Basotho Educational Trust in Lesotho.

Grant wisdom and diligence to the Trustees and may all their decisions be in accordance with your will. Let all the funds that are raised be spent prudently and targeted at the most needy and deserving students.

And Father, I pray that each grant made will bring hope to the student, their family and their country. May the skills that they learn bless them and be a security for their future, that in turn, they may bless their countrymen and bring prosperity and growth to their land.

In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen.
